Our Story

Three parents. One problem.

SponsorTh.is started the way most things start — someone tried to do something simple and realized there was no way to do it.

🏀

The sponsor

“I wanted to sponsor my friend's son's basketball team. There was no way to do it.”

One of us wanted to put a company logo on a kid's basketball team jersey. Simple idea. Write a check, get some visibility, help the team out. Except the coach — a close friend — had no system for it. No page. No tiers. No way to say “here's what $150 gets you vs. $500.”

There was no link to send. No clean way to pay. Just a conversation that ended with “I'll figure it out” — and nothing happened.

That moment is why this exists. Not because of a business plan. Because someone who wanted to help literally couldn't find the door.

📋

The coach

“I coach my son's team. I know how expensive it is. I just didn't have the tools.”

Another one of us coaches his own kid's team. Volunteers every weekend. Knows firsthand what it costs — tournaments, travel, uniforms, equipment that kids outgrow in a season.

He's not going to build a website. He's not going to create invoices for local businesses. He's not going to chase down payments in the team group chat. He just wants to coach. He needs a link he can send and a page that does the rest.

Every coach, every team parent, every booster club volunteer knows this feeling. You're already doing the hard part. The fundraising shouldn't be another job.

💛

The parent

“I can afford it. But I sit next to parents who can't.”

The third one of us has two daughters who play multiple sports. She covers the cost — registration, travel, gear, all of it. She can swing it. But she watches other families quietly do the math.

The parent who doesn't sign up for the travel tournament. The kid who sits out a season. The coach who covers someone's registration out of pocket and doesn't tell anyone.

She doesn't want to run a charity. She wants a system where the families who can chip in a little extra can do it easily — and the families who need help don't have to ask.

What we believe

Every kid deserves to play. Regardless of what their family can afford.

Youth sports costs an average family over $1,000 per child per season. That number doesn't include the travel tournaments, the new cleats, or the “optional” team hoodie that every kid on the bench is wearing.

For some families, that's nothing. For others, it's the reason their kid doesn't play this year. The gap between those two families is often sitting in the same row of bleachers.

SponsorTh.is exists to close that gap. Not with fundraising galas or corporate sponsorship decks — with a simple link that a coach can text to the team group chat and a local business owner can click in two minutes.

How we're different

We didn't build this in a boardroom.

🚫

No subscriptions. Teams don't pay monthly. There's no setup fee. No trial that expires. The platform is free to use — we take 6% when money moves, and that covers everything.

💸

Direct payouts. Money goes straight to the team through Stripe. We never hold funds. The coach sees it in their bank account within days.

⏱️

Three-minute setup. If you can fill out a form and text a link, you can run a sponsorship page. No design skills. No tech skills.

🤝

Built for both sides. Local businesses get clean sponsorship tiers with visibility. Parents and community members can support with any amount. One page serves everyone.

Your team is waiting.

Three minutes. One link. That's the difference between a team that struggles to fund the season and one that doesn't.
